Principle Designer
As an IMaPS Incorporated Member, we provide Principal Designer services under CDM and the Building Safety Act. We manage health and safety risks throughout the project, focusing on identifying hazards early and reducing them through design. Where needed, we work with the Building Safety Regulator and support gateway compliance, helping clients meet their legal obligations.
Principal Designer under CDM 2015
We act as Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, planning, managing and monitoring health and safety throughout the design stage so risks are designed out before work starts on site.
Principal Designer under the Building Regulations
Following the changes introduced by the Building Safety Act 2022, we act as Principal Designer under the Building Regulations, coordinating the design team so the finished building complies and liaising with Building Control or the Building Safety Regulator to secure approvals.
Pre-Construction Information
We gather and issue the pre-construction information required under the CDM Regulations, so designers and contractors have what they need to plan and work safely.
Design-Risk Reviews & Registers
We review designs against the CDM Regulations to identify health and safety risks, recording each one and how it is being managed in a design-risk register.
Construction-Phase Monitoring
We keep design-related risks under review once work is under way, making sure changes on site are assessed and that CDM duties continue to be met.
Health & Safety File
We prepare and hand over the Health and Safety File required under the CDM Regulations, giving you the record you will need for future maintenance, alterations and demolition.
